Manchester United to offer discounted FA Cup final tickets to U16 supporters

Manchester United to subsidise cost of FA Cup final tickets for U16 supporters - Man United News And Transfer News

Manchester United have reached back-to-back FA cup finals for the first time in almost twenty years after beating Coventry City via a penalty shootout last weekend.

For all the valid question marks over Erik ten Hag’s style of play, it’s a fine achievement for the team who have otherwise suffered a woeful second season under the Dutchman’s tutelage.

Manchester City lie in wait in what will be a repeat of last year’s final with United out for revenge after losing by two goals to one, just under 12 months ago.

Over 30,000 United fans will walk down Wembley way on May 25 and the club have made a classy gesture for young supporters making the trip.

As reported by The Daily Mail, United are offering £30 discount to under 16’s attending the match which could mean tickets cost as little as £5 for the showpiece occasion.

The lower category tickets are selling at £35 for under 16’s and the subsidy will be welcomed by fans who are traveling down with young families.

In recent trips to Wembley, United have offered freebies such as bucket hats and scarves to fans in the ground but this time have decided to recognise the importance of their younger fanbase with the ticket discounts.

Free flags are expected to be handed out in the ground to all supporters in an attempt to create a ‘wall of red’ before the summit clash.

United’s supporters will need to play a key role if they are to see their team lift the cup with City strong favourites going into the game.

Ten Hag will understand the importance of keeping fans on side between now and the final with United stuttering badly in the league after blowing their chances of qualifying for next season’s Champions League.

The Dutchman will hopefully have some of his big-name players back ahead of next month’s game, having been plagued by injuries throughout the campaign.

With the final arguably the last chance to save his job at Old Trafford, it’s a do-or-die period for Ten Hag who will be desperate to secure back-to-back trophies during his spell at the club, whether he stays in the hot seat next season or not.
