Manchester United to offload Harry Maguire at surprisingly low price in January – Latest Updates on Man United’s Transfer Activity

Match Report: FC Porto 3-3 Manchester United - Man United News And Transfer News

Manchester United are reportedly prepared to sell Harry Maguire during the winter transfer window for as little as £10 million.

This is according to The Daily Star, who reveal that United “will listen to offers” for Maguire in January, starting at the £10 million mark.

The newspaper further notes, “That price, a huge reduction on the £30m he would have cost barely a year ago, underlines that United consider the England defender dispensable.”

Maguire is into the final year of his deal at Old Trafford, although the club retains an option to extend his terms by a further 12 months.

It’s understood that if the defender is not sold for a cut-price sum in January, United will trigger this extension clause in an effort to try and sell him next summer.

Maguire signed for United in 2019 from Leicester City for a whooping £80m, a then world-record fee for a defender.

During his time with the Red Devils, he has split opinions with his performances, whether it’s at club level or at international level with the Three Lions.

Under Ten Hag, the 31-year-old has not been able to nail down a consistent run of matches, partly due to consistently occurring injuries.

Last term, he managed just 18 Premier League starts amidst two lengthy periods on the sidelines with separate injuries. He missed out on Euro 2024 participation as a result, while he underwent recovery.

Disaster struck again for Maguire last weekend during United’s goalless draw against Unai Emery’s men at Villa Park, as he was hurt in the first half of proceedings.

He was subsequently withdrawn at the break and was spotted leaving Villa’s grounds in a protective boot.

Maguire later took to social media and indicated that he would be out of action for a “few weeks.” He has appeared nine times for United so far this campaign, scoring in the 3-3 Europa League draw against Porto on 3 October.
