Manchester United’s Expectations High as Omar Berrada’s Allegiance to Manchester City Remains Unquestioned – Latest Updates from Man United’s News and Transfer Scene

Erik ten Hag says Man United owners "should have told him" by now if they intended to sack him - Man United News And Transfer News

INEOS’ introduction at Old Trafford has meant major changes to the sporting structure at the club with the new owners forming a best-in-class set-up behind the scenes.

One of those added to the group was Manchester City’s chief football operations officer Omar Berrada who officially joined in the summer.

The 46-year-old is now CEO at United having left the Blue side of Manchester to drive INEOS’ revolution at the Theatre of Dreams.

Over at the Etihad, City are now facing trial for the 115 financial misconduct charges bought against them by the Premier League when Berrada was employed by the Premier League’s reigning champions.

As reported by the Daily Mail, Berrada was a witness representing City at Benjamin Mendy’s employment tribunal earlier this week to respond to claims related to back-dated pay.

This raised concerns that United’s CEO and other ex-City staff now employed at United could be dragged into the ongoing trials with City.

However, the Telegraph claim that United heads are confident the new CEO will not be implicated in the charges levelled at Pep Guardiola’s men and will be able to continue his work at Old Trafford.

United’s new Technical Director, Jason Wilcox, was also employed by City during the time the charges are said to have occurred, but he is expected to be cleared with “no suggestion of any wrongdoing” from any individuals now working at Old Trafford.

Berrada and his colleagues face a huge task to get United back to the top of English football with the team having fallen so far behind over the last decade.

Erik ten Hag’s side have suffered another woeful start to a Premier League season sitting in 14th place after just seven games.

Heavy home defeats to Liverpool and Spurs have left Ten Hag under huge pressure at the club and Berrada will be one of the key figures deciding the Dutchman’s long-term future.

United are back in action this coming Saturday with Thomas Frank’s dangerous Brentford side visiting Old Trafford in a rare 3pm kick-off.
