Maria Sharapova & Ons Jabeur Meet During F1 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix

Maria Sharapova & Ons Jabeur Meet During F1 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix

Formula One was in Abu Dhabi this weekend, and Ons Jabeur and Maria Sharapova took the opportunity to meet during the event as they both attended it.

Maria Sharapova is a legendary former WTA player who was one of the most popular tennis players ever. She’s been retired for a while now but remains active in the public eye through her various business efforts, though not much related to tennis.

Ons Jabeur is one of the best players on the planet, who played in two consecutive Wimbledon finals and three Grand Slams finals overall. She was in Abu Dhabi this weekend for the Formula One race, the 2023 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, and ran into Maria Sharapova in the stands.

The players are obviously familiar with one another, as Sharapova is a huge fan of what Jabeur has been doing in recent years. They shared a warm embrace, which was captured by cameras, and they took a few photos as well.

Both witnessed a very exciting race in Abu Dhabi at the Yas Marina Circuit, which was the last race of the season, though the outcome was quite familiar to most racing fans. Max Verstappen in his Red Bull has won yet another race this season, taking his win total to 19, and rewriting history once again.

Sharapova and Jabeur weren’t known as racing fans before, but the trips probably included other activities besides the race. While the Russian can enjoy the race and also some after-party, the Tunisian players can’t do the same.

Soon, the off-season will begin for Jabeur, and if she wants to climb up the WTA Rankings, she will need to prepare well for the 2024 season, because if 2023 showed anything, it’s the fact that every player improved, and it’s harder than ever to win a Grand Slam.
