Uruguay is one of the favorites of the entire tournament. They’ve progressed to being one of the most dangerous teams in the world and, in Group C with the United States, want to get started with a good showing in the goal department. Darwin Núñez and Luis Suárez are lethal on the attack, and it’s going to be hard for any team to contain them.
Panama isn’t here to sightsee, however. They’re here to make a statement. They may not have the star power of their opponents, but they have some players that have been good and can hold their own against elite competition. The question will be whether they bring some Concacaf vibes to this Copa America match. With captain Anibal Godoy out for the tournament due to a thigh injury, they will need someone to step up and lead the team to a major result. They get their first chance tonight.
