Matt LaFleur Makes A Big Statement About C.J. Stroud

Last season, the Houston Texans burst on the scene and became the surprise team in the NFL, with a new head coach and a rookie quarterback leading the way.

Even though many anticipated a rough rebuilding year for the Texans last season, Houston flourished with CJ Stroud under center and DeMeco Ryans calling the shots on the sideline, resulting in an AFC South division title and a trip to the NFL playoffs, where they upset the Cleveland Browns before falling to the Baltimore Ravens in the second round.

Heading into the 2024 NFL season, the Texans brought in more talent, adding Stefon Diggs and Danielle Hunter, which many believed would propel them to title-contending status in the AFC.

So far, the Texans have been as advertised, with the team sporting an impressive record of 5-1 while winning three straight games heading into Week 7, where they’ll go on the road to face Jordan Love and the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field.

With the Packers facing a tough challenge next weekend, head coach Matt LaFleur knows full well how talented Stroud is, as he believes the second-year quarterback is as talented as any player in the league today, according to Matt Schneidman of The Athletic.

“He is as talented as anybody,” LaFleur said.

The Packers have also been playing at a high level this season; even though they had to deal with the absence of Love for a couple of games due to a knee injury, Green Bay has been able to endure and is sporting a record of 4-2 coming into this matchup against the Texans.

This will be a measuring stick game for both teams and quarterbacks, as it could be a potential Super Bowl preview.
