The recent contract of top WNBA draft pick Caitlin Clark has sparked controversy. Some fans were surprised to learn that despite being considered one of the best college basketball players, she could earn less than $80,000 in a WNBA rookie contract as the top pick.

Fans argue that her jersey sales alone will likely generate millions for the team she joins. However, Daily Wire host Matt Walsh criticized the concept of a professional women’s basketball league.

Walsh claims that WNBA players are overpaid, stating that the league has never turned a profit in its nearly 30-year existence. He argues that the NBA subsidizes the WNBA, keeping it afloat despite low viewership.

Walsh points out the vast difference in revenue between the NBA and the WNBA, questioning the sustainability of a league that operates at a loss. He also criticizes Joe Biden’s support for fair pay for WNBA players, emphasizing the lack of profitability in the league.
