Matthew Judon alludes to potential contract disagreement with Patriots

Matthew Judon Sends A Clear Message Ahead Of Season

Summertime is the time for NFL players to review their current deals with their teams and consider whether they are deserving of more.

Such is apparently the case with New England Patriots star defensive end/linebacker Matt Judon, and it is increasingly clear that he and the team are at an impasse over his seeking an extension.

The four-time Pro Bowler has 66.5 career sacks in his eight-year career, and most around the game believe he deserves a raise.

Note that Judon is already in the top ten in Patriots history for sacks after only three seasons in Foxboro, including last year when he only appeared in four games due to a torn bicep suffered in Week 4.

Dov Kleiman reported that Judon responded to a social media post pleading with the team to award him a contract extension by noting that he does not believe the agreement is “about to happen.”

The sentiment expressed in the message is undoubtedly that of most New England fans.

After all, they watched last season as the defense unraveled without Judon in the lineup and the pass rush virtually disappeared.

Per Spotrac, he will enter his fourth and final year under contract when games get underway, and every day that he is not signed to an extension means more intense rumors circulating that he is on the trading block.

There is always the chance that Judon will begin the 2024 campaign in New England and be shipped elsewhere as part of a selloff if the team struggles out of the gate.
