Pochettino Addresses Tottenham Speculation
Mauricio Pochettino has stated that he has not been contacted by Tottenham regarding a potential return to the club, but he did not dismiss the possibility of moving back to North London later on.
While preparing for the upcoming friendly match between the United States Men’s National Team (USMNT) and Portugal, Pochettino discussed the rumors linking him with Tottenham.
Pochettino mentioned, “No talks. We are very, very focused here on the World Cup. Everyone knows that I have a commitment with the national team here. It’s not the point to talk about the future. No one approached me. But who knows what is going to happen?” His statements reflect a strong commitment to his current role, although he left the door open for future opportunities.
Despite his professional focus, he also indicated a willingness to continue his tenure with the USMNT, expressing, “We are open [to staying with the USMNT], why not if the federation is happy?”
Tottenham Looks Elsewhere for Management Solutions
Pochettino’s confirmation of no contact with Tottenham suggests that the club’s management is exploring other options to address their current issues.
Following the departure of Igor Tudor after just 44 days, reports indicate that Tottenham is rapidly pursuing former Brighton and Marseille manager Roberto De Zerbi. With Premier League survival at stake, the club is reportedly making significant efforts to convince De Zerbi to take on the role without delay.
Bringing De Zerbi on board would likely end the narrative of Pochettino’s potential return to the club, at least for the immediate future.
