The Dolphins’ quarterback roster suffered another setback on Sunday night, as Skylar Thompson sustained a painful rib injury in a week 3 loss to the Seahawks.
Skylar Thompson Rib Injury
Just last weekend Tua Tagovailoa suffered a concussion, forcing him out of action for at least four games.
In the week 3 game against Seattle, Skylar Thompson stepped in as quarterback for his ninth NFL appearance, but things didn’t go well for the replacement QB.
Thompson was only able to throw the ball 19 times before a hit to the ribs forced him out of the game in the third quarter.

The Dolphins promoted Tim Boyle from the practice squad on Sunday morning, but he had to take over as quarterback late in the game against the Seahawks.
Miami couldn’t secure a win against Seattle, falling to 1-2 for the season after three weeks.
After the game, Mike McDaniel mentioned Thompson’s struggles with the pain, making it a tough time for the Dolphins quarterbacks.
“I haven’t spoken to Skylar since the end of the game,” McDaniel said. “It was a pretty painful rib injury. Part of his frustration was trying not to leave the game.
“Ultimately, the pain was too much. He toughed it out, but we will assess his condition tomorrow.”
Thompson finished the game with 107 passing yards in his fourth NFL start, with no touchdowns or interceptions. Miami, McDaniel, and Thompson are hoping for a quick recovery before their week 4 game against the Titans.
