Denver Nuggets standout Michael Porter Jr. expressed gratitude for his teammates’ support during a difficult time for his siblings.

Prior to the team’s playoff series against the Los Angeles Lakers, Porter’s brothers, Jontay and Coban, encountered serious challenges.

Jontay received a lifetime ban from the NBA for gambling on basketball games, including those featuring his team, the Toronto Raptors. Meanwhile, Coban was sentenced to six years in prison following a fatal DUI incident.

“Some unfortunate and heartbreaking events occurred with a couple of my brothers,” Michael Porter Jr. shared after the Nuggets defeated the Lakers 114-103 to take a 1-0 series lead.

“But I have 15, 16 more brothers on this team. So I knew I had to show up for them, come here and fulfill my responsibilities and strive to excel at a high level.”
