Migliozzi Secures Victory at KLM Open – Golfing Triumph

Migliozzi wins KLM Open - Golf News

Guido Migliozzi emerged victorious at the KLM Open, claiming his fourth DP World Tour title with a crucial birdie on the 18th hole, securing a win in a three-man play-off in the Netherlands.

The 27-year-old Italian started the final day just one shot behind the leader at The International. He briefly led by three strokes at one point but then fell two behind after a couple of bogeys. However, he managed to birdie the 16th and 18th holes, carding a roller coaster round of 70 to finish at 11 under, tied with Joe Dean and Marcus Kinhult.

All three players birdied the first playoff hole, only for Dean and Kinhult to make par on the second attempt. In contrast, Migliozzi reached the green in two shots and secured a two-foot putt for a birdie, securing an exciting victory.

Migliozzi’s win not only earned him the KLM Open title but also a spot at The Open Championship next month, alongside Dean, who secured his place based on world ranking. Dean closed with a 68, the same as Kinhult, while Rasmus Højgaard and Andrea Pavan narrowly missed the play-off.

After his win, Migliozzi expressed his joy, saying, “I never thought I was done. I’ve always been in position and tried to make birdies and come back and here it is now. It’s an incredible feeling, it’s been an incredible battle.” He added, “Qualifying for The Open was one of my main goals this year, so It’s just incredible that I’m going to be part of that now.”

He also spoke about his excitement for The Open, mentioning, “The Open is so special. To play at a beautiful golf course like Troon it will be special, and I can’t wait to tee it up there.”
