Mike Brown Sets the Record Straight on Giannis-Knicks Trade Rumors!

Mike Brown Sets the Record Straight on Giannis-Knicks Trade Rumors!

As the NBA season approaches, rumors surrounding Giannis Antetokounmpo’s potential trade are heating up once again.

The speculation regarding a trade to the New York Knicks has gained momentum, fueled by information from Shams Charania. According to multiple sources, Antetokounmpo has expressed a strong interest in joining the Knicks if he decides to leave Milwaukee.

Reports indicate that the Milwaukee Bucks briefly entertained trade discussions with the Knicks about Antetokounmpo in August, but talks did not progress into a deal.

Supporting Charania’s claims, Ian Begley from SNY shared insights suggesting that the prospect of winning a championship with the Knicks is appealing to the star player.

However, the path to New York is challenging. Begley noted that Giannis may need to exert pressure on the Bucks for a trade or create complications to facilitate a move to the Knicks, especially if he considers leveraging his potential contract extension to deter other teams from pursuing him.

During a recent practice, Coach Mike Brown was asked about the August trade discussions involving the Bucks and Knicks. He responded, “I don’t get into that stuff. We’re in a great spot right now. Our guys have been working hard. They’re starting to pick up on our defensive strategies, and offensively, we’re becoming more comfortable—particularly in our fast pace. That’s my focus. I love our players, and they seem to be enjoying the style we’re trying to implement on both ends.”

Shams Charania also mentioned that Giannis is likely to keep his options open based on the Bucks’ performance as the season begins, indicating that the Milwaukee franchise should be proactive.
