Having developed his skills at La Masia during his early playing days, Arteta is being linked to a return to Catalonia, as suggested by former Arsenal and Barcelona midfielder Emmanuel Petit.
Petit Suggests Arteta Could Succeed at Barcelona
Petit believes Arteta might be in line to become Barcelona’s next manager if Hansi Flick decides to leave at the end of this season. He stated, “He may be tempted to go back to Spain, especially to a club he represented in his youth. Given the work he’s doing, if he clinches a title this season, it would be reasonable for him to consider exploring new opportunities after nearly seven years at Arsenal.”
Petit further remarked, “Barcelona is one of the world’s top clubs, and returning to Spain could be appealing for him and his family. However, he would need to address certain areas, particularly in defense, if he were to take the job, as the competition for titles in La Liga is different from that in the Champions League.”
