Most Valuable Player, Defensive Player of the Year, Rookie of the Year, and Other NBA Awards

Finalists

The NBA has announced the Finalists for the seven regular season awards on Sunday, including MVP, Defensive Player of the Year and Rookie of the Year.

It comes as no surprise that Nuggets big man Nikola Jokic is in the running to take out his third MVP award in four seasons after he won MVP in 2021 and 2022 and won Finals MVP in 2023.

Jokic finished second to Sixers big man Joel Embiid in regular season MVP voting last year.

If the Serbian superstar was to win the 2024 regular season MVP, he would become just the ninth player in league history to secure three or more MVP awards, joining the elite company of Bill Russell, Wilt Chamberlain, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Moses Malone, Larry Bird, Magic Johnson, Michael Jordan and LeBron James.

Meanwhile, rookie sensation Victor Wembanyama is a finalist for two awards: Rookie of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year.
