Andy Murray will be playing his final Wimbledon this year, and he’ll also play doubles with his brother Jamie, marking the first and last time they team up at SW19.
The Murray brothers haven’t played doubles together much due to Andy’s focus on singles and Jamie’s doubles career with different partners.
Although they’ve played together on occasion, they never clinched a major title as a duo. This Wimbledon, after receiving a wild card, they will pair up.
Andy’s retirement announcement adds significance to this final Wimbledon appearance, with the brothers set to compete together. Their first match will be against Rinky Hijikata and John Peers, a challenging pairing.
Success would lead them to face either the ninth-seeded Neal Skupski and Michael Venus or Lucas Miedler and Alexander Erler in the next round, with potential matchups against various teams, including home wild cards and other contenders.
Despite a recent back injury and surgery following the Cinch Championships, Murray’s participation at Wimbledon remains uncertain. He’s included in the draw, possibly due to the sentimental value of playing his final Wimbledon.
