While Kirk Cousins may not be a truly elite NFL quarterback, he has been a good one for many years. In 12 pro seasons, he has been named to the Pro Bowl four times, and he led the league in completion percentage during the 2015 season.

But he isn’t immune from criticism. According to NBACentral, an anonymous NBA player referred to Cousins as his favorite non-NBA athlete but also criticized him, suggesting that he hasn’t achieved significant success despite his sizable earnings.

“He gets paid and doesn’t have to win or don’t have to do anything and made $400 million off of one playoff win. Legend,” the anonymous player said in The Athletic’s poll.

Cousins has made the playoffs four times in his pro career, winning just one of those contests. His notable playoff victory came in 2019 when he led the Minnesota Vikings to an overtime win against the New Orleans Saints, throwing the game-winning touchdown to Kyle Rudolph.

In 2023, Cousins was having a strong season before suffering a torn Achilles in late October. He recently joined the Atlanta Falcons in free agency, signing a lucrative four-year deal worth $180 million.

However, there are reports suggesting that the Falcons may have tampered in their signing of Cousins, potentially leading to a loss of draft picks as a consequence.
