Nadal Announces Return to Tennis at Brisbane International

Former world No. 1 and 22-time Major winner Rafael Nadal announced on Friday that we will make a return to competitive play at the 2024 Brisbane International event.

Nadal, who only played four matches in 2023, suffered a hip injury during the second round of the Australian Open this year against Mckenzie McDonald.

Currently ranked No. 663 in the world, Nadal holds 92 titles as a professional and last won an event at the 2022 French Open.

The Spaniard, who will turn 38 in May, has suffered with a multitude of injuries throughout the years.

Nadal will be joined at the Brisbane event with three-time Major winner Andy Murray, Holger Rune, Grigor Dimitrov, and American upstart Ben Shelton.

The Brisbane International begins on December 31st.
