Madrid boasts its own royal box this week.

The King of Clay has been a daily practice presence in Madrid’s Magic Box.

Rafael Nadal has been amping up his training sessions in preparation for his return to next week’s Mutua Madrid Open.

The 37-year-old Spanish superstar practice in Madrid today with 2020 Roland Garros semifinalist Diego Schwartzman.

Sporting a red sleeveless t-shirt and ivory shorts, Nadal was thumping his signature forehand with vigor under the watchful eyes of coaches Carlos Moya and Marc Lopez.

Five-time Madrid champion Nadal, who launched his comeback in Barcelona last week where he defeated Flavio Cobolli 6-2, 6-3 before bowing to fourth-seeded Alex de Minaur 7-5, 6-1, is scheduled to play his Mutua Madrid opener on Tuesday, April 23rd.

The Mutua Madrid Open men’s draw will be conducted Monday morning.
