The exclusive negotiations between the NBA and Disney and Warner Bros. Discovery are expected to end Monday without a deal. Both companies are in talks to continue broadcasting games on ESPN and TNT.
The NBA is looking to secure a new flagship streaming partner, with discussions potentially starting with Amazon, Apple, YouTubeTV, Peacock, and Netflix on Monday.
The league has ongoing discussions with Disney and Warner Bros. Discovery. TNT has been airing NBA games since 1988, while ESPN’s deal began in 2002.
The NBA is aiming to double its previous $24 billion media rights deal by adding new partners and increasing fees. Last year’s NBA playoffs were the most-watched in 11 years across TNT, ABC, ESPN, and NBA TV, according to Nielsen.
