“Never feel pressure!” – Aston Villa manager Unai Emery sends message ahead of pivotal Manchester United clash

“Never feel pressure!” – Aston Villa manager Unai Emery sends message ahead of pivotal Manchester United clash

Unai Emery has asserted that his Aston Villa players won’t succumb to pressure as they navigate the final third of the Premier League campaign, citing their preparedness for the challenges ahead.

Villa had secured 12 wins out of their first 17 Premier League games this season, with all three losses occurring away from home. However, since their 2-1 victory over Brentford eight weeks ago, Emery’s side has only managed two wins, collecting eight points from the 18 available in the last five matches.

Having dropped out of the top four following a 3-1 home defeat to Newcastle, Villa regained their place in the Champions League spots with a resounding 5-0 win over Sheffield United last weekend.

This Sunday’s clash with Manchester United will be pivotal in shaping Villa’s season. A win would extend their lead over the Red Devils to 11 points, but a defeat would narrow the gap to just five points.

When asked if his players have what it takes to maintain their form, Emery expressed confidence in their abilities by stating in his latest press conference: “My message to the players is the same. We will always look how we can manage each situation on the pitch and never feel pressure.”

He added: “We have to try and play. If you are playing and take the challenge, feeling strong in preparation and facing duels, there is no more.”

A victory for the Villans on Sunday would be a huge statement of intent given the gap they could create to current sixth-placed side, and this weekend’s opponents, Man United.
