With training camps around the NFL getting underway, players are getting back to work on the field and in the film room to prepare for the upcoming 2024 NFL season, which starts in the first week of September.
After an impressive 2023 campaign in which the team came one win shy of reaching the Super Bowl, with the defending champion Kansas City Chiefs proving too much to handle in the AFC Championship Game, the Baltimore Ravens aim to bounce back with a vengeance in 2024.
Unfortunately for the Ravens, superstar quarterback and reigning NFL MVP Lamar Jackson is under the weather as training camp gets started on Sunday.
According to NFL insider Josina Anderson, Jackson is dealing with a “pretty bad” illness right now and won’t be able to participate in the first day of training camp.

Obviously, this isn’t great news for the Ravens, who have Super Bowl aspirations in 2024, but it is only just the start of training camp, and this illness might pass in a week or so.
However, this is something to monitor for the Ravens and their fans because it is a little concerning that it wasn’t disclosed what illness exactly Jackson is battling at the moment and how long he’ll be out before getting back on the gridiron with his teammates.
Once Jackson does return and everything is back to normal, the Ravens are expected to be a serious threat to the Chiefs’ three-peat chances, as Baltimore has one of the most stacked squads in the league, especially on offense, with the addition of superstar running back Derrick Henry.
