The New Orleans Saints are facing a downward spiral after starting the season 2-0, now on a 0-5 losing streak in their last five games. Starting QB Derek Carr has been sidelined for the past two games due to an oblique injury suffered in Week 5. Rookie QB Spencer Rattler has been filling in for Carr.
During Thursday Night Football against the Broncos, the Saints suffered a humiliating 33-10 loss at home. In the middle of the second quarter, Saints starting CB Paulson Adebo sustained a leg injury while making a tackle. Adebo was carted off the field and later underwent surgery for a broken femur. Adam Schefter reported that Adebo will be out for the rest of the 2024 season.
Paulson Adebo’s season ends after broken femur in Week 7

Selected by the Saints in the third round of the 2021 NFL draft, Paulson Adebo from Stanford has been a key player, starting 51 out of 52 games. Adebo has had injury setbacks in previous seasons but had a standout performance in 2023 with four interceptions, 18 passes defended, two forced fumbles, and 76 combined tackles. Despite his strong start in 2024 with three interceptions and leading the NFL in passes defended, his season came to an abrupt end due to the broken femur.
With Adebo out, the Saints will look to second-round pick Kool-Aid McKinstry from Alabama to step up at CB for the remainder of the season. McKinstry has played in all seven games this season and started one. The Saints’ upcoming game will be on the road against the Los Angeles Chargers.
