Newcastle Reduces Dan Ashworth Asking Price While Manchester United Holds Firm – Latest Updates on Man United Transfers

Newcastle slash Dan Ashworth asking price but Manchester United sticking to their guns - Man United News And Transfer News

Newcastle have apparently reduced their asking price to part ways with Dan Ashworth, but Manchester United still refuse to overpay for the deal.

Ashworth was placed on gardening leave in February by Newcastle after expressing his desire to leave St James’ Park to join Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s project at United.

Despite discussions between both clubs and involvement from Ratcliffe and Magpies co-owner Amanda Staveley, a resolution has not been reached.

To break the deadlock, Ashworth was reported to be taking Newcastle to arbitration.

A recent report mentioned that Newcastle is demanding up to £20 million for Ashworth’s compensation package, while United is offering around £3 million.

Newcastle wants £15 million plus add-ons for Ashworth, while United has increased their offer to just £3 million, creating a financial hurdle for the transfer.

According to The Telegraph, Manchester United is standing firm on their valuation of £3 million for Ashworth and is not willing to meet Newcastle’s demands.

Ratcliffe has criticized Newcastle for their handling of the situation earlier this year, calling their actions “silly” and “absurd.”
