Several clubs are gearing up to make formal offers for Chelsea’s French defender Axel Disasi as the winter transfer window approaches.
Borussia Dortmund is looking to bolster their defense ahead of the second half of the season, and they believe Disasi’s physicality, aerial ability, and proficiency in playing out from the back would meet their requirements. Despite his contract extending until 2029, the player’s inconsistent playing time and changing priorities at Chelsea could lead to a January transfer, as the club is receptive to proposals.
Demand for Disasi on the Rise
Reports indicate that Dortmund is one of several clubs interested in Disasi.
Galatasaray, Juventus, Newcastle United, and West Ham are all keeping an eye on his situation as they seek experienced defensive additions.
Juventus might consider a loan arrangement with an option to buy, allowing them to manage wages more effectively, while Newcastle and West Ham view Disasi as a suitable candidate for the physical demands of the Premier League on a permanent basis. Galatasaray could pursue Disasi if their preferred defensive target is unattainable, perceiving him as a temporary fix with potential for value appreciation.
Additionally, Olympique Lyonnais is contemplating a loan move for Disasi during the Africa Cup of Nations, aiming to strengthen their squad depth. This potential deal could last until the season’s end at a reasonable loan fee, contingent on Disasi’s readiness and the financial terms regarding wage contributions. Including a purchase clause could provide Chelsea with flexibility for the upcoming summer transfer window.
Newcastle United: A Promising Destination for Disasi

Should Disasi join Newcastle, he could benefit from regular game time, enhancing his visibility in the Premier League.
