Newcastle United eager to sign prolific 19-goal attacker ahead of Chelsea

Newcastle United keen on signing 19-goal attacker ahead of Chelsea

Newcastle United have started their summer transfer business by strengthening their defese.

The Magpies have managed to sign free agent Lloyd Kelly this summer after losing two of their starting centre-backs to long term injuries.

Eddie Howe will be given the budget to spend on new signings this summer and with no concerns regarding the Profit and Sustainability Rules after the sales of Yankuba Minteh and Elliott Anderson, the Magpies are ready to bring fresh faces to the club.

Newcastle United are looking to sign a wide attacker this summer and they have identified Leeds United star Crysencio Summerville as their target, according to information provided by journalist Ben Jacobs to GiveMeSport.

The Dutch attacker scored 19 goals last season and provided 8 assists in a highly successful individual campaign for Leeds United.

Jacobs told GiveMeSport:

“There is interest in him (Summerville). We know Brighton have taken a look. We know that he could still be on Chelsea’s radar. Newcastle are also interested in the player. So it will still be a big surprise if between now and the end of the window, given how many clubs want players in his position, it will be a surprise if somebody doesn’t make a formal offer for Summerville.

Crysencio Summerville to Newcastle United?

“Then ultimately, Leeds will speak to the player, and they’ll have a big decision to make. But if there are exits at Leeds, it will be because it suits all parties, rather than because Leeds are scrambling, financially speaking, or are forced to sell.”

The Toon Army will have to beat Chelsea and Brighton to sign the attacking player this summer.

The season he had with the Whites was expected to attract interest from some of the biggest clubs in England.

Newcastle United want a right-winger this summer

Howe wanted to sign Michael Olise from Crystal Palace this summer but the French winger decided to move to Bayern Munich.

Now the Magpies have identified Summerville as an alternative option and they are determined to move for him to add a wide attacker to their squad.

The Leeds attacker was named Championship Player of the year last season and his fine form for the Whites have not gone unnoticed.
