NFL Insider Names ‘1 Player To Watch’ This Offseason For Jets

The New York Jets may be running it back with general Joe Douglas and head coach Robert Saleh, but the roster needs work in the offseason.

Even with a presumably healthy Aaron Rodgers available for the 2024 NFL season, the Jets will need to insulate him with a better offensive line and more skilled position players

The offensive line is the biggest area of need for New York as the backup quarterbacks spent most games scrambling out of pressure.

However, the team could also use more receiving help outside of Garrett Wilson who looks like a budding superstar in the league.

With the Las Vegas Raiders on the way to missing another postseason, it seems that Rodgers could implore New York to trade for his former teammate Davante Adams via Rich Cimini of ESPN.

“Players on the Rodgers 2024 watch list include Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Davante Adams, who caught 68 touchdowns from Rodgers during their years together in Green Bay,” Cimini reports.

This isn’t the first time that the Jets have been linked to Adams as the team reportedly tried to trade for the star receiver this past offseason and once again at the trade deadline.

Adams hasn’t expressed a desire to be traded from the Raiders, though the offseason could be a different story depending on how the franchise decides to move forward.

A reunion for Adams and Rodgers makes sense for both sides as New York is all-in on a Super Bowl while Las Vegas would be best served rebuilding the roster.

For now, though, it remains to be seen how the Jets address the various needs on their team.
