NFL Insider Report: Who Will Be the Next Player to Sign a Massive Deal After Trevor Lawrence?

Jaguars Make Contract Decision With Trevor Lawrence

On Thursday, Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence became the latest NFL player to hit the jackpot when he was given a five-year, $275 million contract extension.

That extension will make him the highest-paid player in the league in terms of annual salary along with Joe Burrow of the Cincinnati Bengals.

There have been many huge contracts handed out over the last couple of years, but there are still several players who are due for huge deals of their own.

Tom Pelissero pointed out that quarterbacks Jordan Love, Tua Tagovailoa, and Dak Prescott could soon get their own humongous paydays.

Love finally took over as the Green Bay Packers’ QB1 after spending three seasons as Aaron Rodgers’ understudy, and after a shaky September and October, he played very well down the stretch and led his team to the divisional round of the playoffs.

He’s going into the final year of his current deal, and Green Bay will want to get him locked up, as they have a team many around the league are very high on.

Tagovailoa made the Pro Bowl for the first time in 2023, and while he has his critics and doubters, he has given the Miami Dolphins an explosive signal-caller.

He led the league in passing yards and commanded arguably the league’s best and most potent offense last season.

Prescott was momentarily a leading MVP candidate last season, and he has been the face of the Dallas Cowboys for several years.

His situation is trickier because of his repeated failures in the playoffs, and some have speculated that perhaps the Cowboys aren’t fully sold on him remaining their quarterback beyond this coming season.
