It’s one thing to make it to the National Football League, but there are no guarantees after that.

It’s up to the players to make sure they have long and successful careers, and it’s all about what they do every single day, especially when no one else is watching.

Notably, that has been the case with Drake Maye.

Most reports from the Patriots training camp have been quite positive, with everybody raving about his work ethic and determination to get better.

Recently, NFL insider Mike Reiss revealed that the Pats’ first and second-round picks have made it a habit to stay after practice to get some extra reps, adding that they’re usually the last players to leave the premises (Via Savage Sports).

The UNC product claimed that it was crucial for them to pick up the little things every single day, and that’s the kind of mindset and approach you want from your new franchise quarterback.

Maye has also reportedly been quite invested in watching film and breaking down plays.

Most scouts agreed that he would benefit from a year on the sidelines, as there are some things to clean up in his game.

His footwork and mechanics could use some tweaking, but he has the arm strength, speed, size, and athleticism to find success in this game.

It takes more than just talent or God-given traits, and Maye seems to be well aware of that.

Hopefully for the fans, this hard work will translate into success on the field.
