The Baltimore Ravens really liked Nate Wiggins.
While most analysts predicted they would go with an offensive lineman, they wound up taking the Clemson star with the No. 30 selection.
Notably, it seems like they were really, really high on him all along.
According to a report by according to Jamison Hensley of ESPN (via ProFootballTalk), GM Eric DeCosta and the Ravens’ brass reportedly turned down as many as eight offers to trade back from their pick.

Perhaps they would’ve agreed to do so if Wiggins had gone earlier, as they didn’t expect him to be available by the time they were on the clock.
But with him falling right into their laps, they didn’t even consider moving down.
Wiggins comes with some physical concerns.
Standing at 6-foot-1 and 173 pounds, some believe he’s not strong or big enough to thrive in the pros, which is perhaps why he slipped to No. 30.
Nonetheless, he excelled in college, making the First-Team All-ACC, not to mention the fact that he was the fastest cornerback in this year’s edition of the combine.
The Ravens lost their defensive coordinator to the Seattle Seahawks head coaching job.
Only time will tell whether they made the right call by turning down so many offers for their first-round selection, and we already know there’s no such thing as a sure thing when it comes to the NFL Draft.
