Nia Long Gets Last Laugh Following Ugly Split With Ime Udoka

Nia Long Gets Last Laugh Following Ugly Split With Ime Udoka

Nia Long has officially had the last laugh after her ugly split with Houston Rockets head coach Ime Udoka.

The pair broke up following claims Udoka cheated on her and had an inappropriate relationship with a female Celtics staffer during his brief time as Boston head coach.

A judge has since ruled Udoka must pay Long $32,500 per month ($390,000 per year) in child support, while also ruling that Long will receive the majority of parenting time with their son, according to TMZ.

The decision came after the court found Udoka makes much more money than Long does, noting that he’s got more than $400,000 in net monthly disposable income, whereas she has approximately $20,000.

Long will have “sole physical custody with reasonable visitation for Ime as time and scheduling permits”, according to the report.

She and Udoka had previously agreed to the terms in a settlement, and now it’s official.

Udoka was at the center of a major scandal in September 2022 when the Celtics suspended and dismissed him over an improper workplace relationship.

In his lone season as Boston head coach, Udoka led the Celtics to an NBA Finals appearance against the Golden State Warriors.

Udoka led Boston to a 51-31 record and became one of five rookie head coaches to reach the NBA Finals in the past 25 years, according to ESPN Stats & Information.

He was later hired by the Houston Rockets in April 2023.
