The Philadelphia Eagles have kicked off their 2024 campaign with mixed results.

Their season opener in Brazil saw them edge the Green Bay Packers in a high-scoring affair, but it wasn’t without its hiccups.

Quarterback Jalen Hurts struggled with ball security, tossing two interceptions and losing a fumble.

Week 2 brought a devastating loss to the Atlanta Falcons, with Hurts managing just 183 yards passing and throwing a crucial incompletion to Saquon Barkley with a chance to ice the game.

Though the Eagles boast undeniable talent, their on-field chemistry remains a work in progress.

With that in mind, head coach Nick Sirianni reached into the past of another sport in an attempt to bring his team together.

He reportedly has been showing the team footage of the 1993 Philadelphia Phillies to underscore the importance of togetherness, according to Eliot Shorr-Parks of 94 WIP Sports Radio.

The 1993 Phillies serve as an inspiring example of defying expectations. Coming off a last-place finish in 1992, they were largely written off.

However, the gritty squad captured the hearts of Philadelphia fans with its tenacious attitude and colorful personalities.

Against all odds, they won the National League pennant, silencing their critics throughout the season before losing the World Series to the Toronto Blue Jays on Joe Carter’s famous walk-off home run.

For the Eagles, cultivating a stronger sense of unity within the locker room could yield significant benefits.

The ’93 Phillies thrived under pressure, and the Eagles must develop similar resilience in challenging situations.

By facing and overcoming adversity as a unit, they can strengthen their resolve and enhance their chances of success this season.
