The Detroit Lions have their guy locked in for the future.

They just signed Jared Goff to a huge contract extension, putting an end to all speculation about his future with the organization.

Goff got a four-year, $212 million with $170 million guaranteed.

He’ll now be under contract through the 2027 campaign, with an option for 2028.

This comes on the heels of a trip to the NFC Championship Game.

However, Nick Wright isn’t sold on him yet.

In the latest edition of First Things First, Wright cited that famous quote, stating that ‘the price of the brick is going up.’

He believes this is great news for the likes of Tua Tagovailoa, Trevor Lawrence, Dak Prescott, and Jordan Love, all of whom he thinks are better quarterbacks than Goff.

At the end of the day, Goff might not be the best quarterback in the game, but he can make a case for being a top-10 gunslinger in the league right now, and his team is a legitimate Super Bowl contender.

The quarterback market keeps blowing up year after year, and with the huge sums of money the players are getting nowadays, perhaps we have to tweak our standards, as what may seem like a lot of money today might be a huge bargain by the end of his deal.
