The struggling Las Vegas Raiders and defending Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs will go head-to-head this weekend at Allegiant Stadium in Sin City, with both storied franchises heading in different directions after the first seven weeks of the 2024 NFL season.

The Raiders and Chiefs couldn’t be headed in more different directions, with Kansas City trying to make NFL history as the first team to win three straight titles while remaining undefeated and Las Vegas trying to get back on track during a rough stretch to begin the 2024 campaign.

Although the Raiders are the underdog heading into this matchup, Las Vegas is ironically the last team to beat the Chiefs, which took place last year on Christmas Day at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City.

There’s no love lost between these two teams, which was taken to another level in training camp, with one Raiders player making fun of Patrick Mahomes with a Kermit the Frog puppet, and it’s safe to assume the superstar quarterback hasn’t forgotten, which Nick Wright of FOX Sports alluded to ahead of the Week 8 matchup between these AFC West division rivals via First Things First.

Although the Chiefs have suffered some significant losses on the offensive side of the football, with wide receivers Marquise Brown and Rashee Rice going down with season-ending injuries and running back Isiah Pacheco still on the mend, Kansas City is the only team left in the league with a flawless record at 6-0.

The Raiders desperately need a win with all the outside noise the team has had to deal with this year, but the Chiefs will be highly motivated to get the win on the road, which doesn’t bode well for Las Vegas this weekend.
