Nikita Parris Travels to Brighton in Search of Agreement as Man United Exit Looms on Deadline Day

Nikita Parris in Brighton to find agreement as deadline-day Man United exit draws closer - Man United News And Transfer News

England international Nikita Parris is reportedly inching closer to leaving Manchester United to join WSL rivals Brighton and Hove Albion in the upcoming hours.

A recent report covered by The Peoples Person revealed that United and Brighton were in “advanced talks” for the deadline-day transfer of Parris.

Brighton – who have made a number of solid additions to their squad ahead of the start of the WSL season – are believed to view Parris as a “marquee signing.”

It was stated that the Seagulls are the favourites to land the 30-year-old, who turned down multiple offers from other clubs.

Earlier on Friday, Emma Sanders of BBC gave an update on Parris’ situation ahead of the close of the transfer window.

Sanders wrote on X (formerly Twitter), “Latest on Manchester United forward Nikita Parris: I’m told she is down in Brighton now working through terms of the agreement.”

“Discussing permanent move not a loan so Man Utd set to receive a fee.”

She further wrote, “With Parris’ contract due to expire in the summer, United triggered an option clause to extend her stay by another year, knowing any interested party would need to pay a fee.”

Parris played for United in a pre-season friendly against Leicester City on Wednesday.

It’s important to note that the transfer deadline is at 23:00 BST.

Parris was United’s top scorer last season as Marc Skinner’s side clinched a historic FA Cup trophy.

Last term, she made 21 top-flight appearances, finding the back of the net on eight occasions. She also registered an assist in the process.
