Northwestern University unveils state-of-the-art golf training facility

Northwestern college golf practice facility

Northwestern University’s men’s and women’s golf teams are equipped with top-notch facilities that are considered among the best in the country.

The Luke Donald Outdoor Practice Facility has been operational since 2006, providing a great outdoor practice space for the Wildcats. However, when weather conditions are less than ideal, they can move indoors to the Gleacher Golf Center without missing a beat.

The indoor facility boasts a 5,400 square-foot short-game and putting area with raised ceilings. The nearly 3,000-square-foot putting green is just one of the impressive features. Additionally, there are three bays equipped with Swing Catalyst Force Plates and a TrackMan system to help players improve their game.

One of the standout features is the 19-foot by 8-foot digitally adjustable putting platform. This platform includes a 3D-modeled green that can be tilted at different angles, along with an overhead projector that uses augmented reality to display putting paths and drills for players to work on.

After a rigorous practice session, players can unwind in the facility’s 1,200-square-foot student-athlete lounge.
