Derrick Henry was the heart and soul of the Tennessee Titans’ offense for years, but his time with the franchise appears to be coming to an end.

Henry’s four-year extension with the Titans expired following the conclusion of the 2023 NFL season, and it appears that both sides are ready for a change.

The star running back has declined in recent years, but remains a bruising player that can still generate yards on the ground before and after contact.

Henry’s got a litany of highlights where he is running over defenders and hitting home run plays, and can still be a valuable contributor on the right team.

Older running backs typically don’t have much of a market, but several contenders are expected to pursue Henry in free agency.

Odds have come out for Henry’s next team and most of them are playoff hopefuls via NBC.

“Baltimore Ravens +200, Philadelphia Eagles +400, Dallas Cowboys +550, Houston Texans +750, Los Angeles Chargers +1000.”

The Baltimore Ravens being the favorites isn’t surprising because their offense still works through the ground despite Lamar Jackson’s improvement as a passer.

However, teams like the Philadelphia Eagles and Dallas Cowboys could use more physical running in their backfields.

The Houston Texans are an interesting dark horse as they’ve got a budding star in CJ Stroud who could use a strong runner to ease the pressure off of him.

Lastly, the Los Angeles Chargers could be parting ways with their own star running back in Austin Ekeler and that would leave a gaping hole that Henry could possibly fill.
