Official Manchester United lineup against Fenerbahce: Noussair Mazraoui expected to feature as attacking midfielder – Latest updates on Manchester United squad and transfers

Kobbie Mainoo and Noussair Mazraoui withdraw from their national teams amidst injury concerns - Man United News And Transfer News

Erik ten Hag could be playing Noussair Mazraoui in the number 10 position tonight for Manchester United against Fenerbahce.

With Bruno Fernandes suspended, fans were speculating who might play in the advanced midfield role, but few suspected it would be the Moroccan.

Casemiro was widely expected to start the game but clearly he has not fully recovered from the knock he sustained against Brentford at the weekend, leaving Manuel Ugarte and Christian Eriksen as the only fit midfielders.

They therefore join Mazraoui in the middle of the 4-3-3 formation.

Kobbie Mainoo, Mason Mount and youngsters Toby Collyer and Dan Gore are all still injured.

The defence is also threadbare. Ten Hag has picked Diogo Dalot, Matthijs de Ligt, Victor Lindelof and Lisandro Martinez to be his back four. Jonny Evans, Harry Maguire, Luke Shaw, Tyrell Malacia and Leny Yoro are all unavailable.

Andre Onana is in goal.

Up front, Rasmus Hojlund also misses out and is replaced by Josh Zirkzee. He is flanked by Marcus Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho.

Amad and Antony are on the bench. They are joined by Harry Amass, who posted his locker room kit layout on social media earlier.

Also on the bench are Altay Bayindir, who might have hoped for a start in his native Turkey, Tom Heaton, Casemiro, Habeeb Ogunneye, Hojlund and Ethan Wheatley.

Kick off in Istanbul is at 8pm BST.
