On Tuesday, the White Sox Experience a Rare Moment of Success

The Chicago White Sox lost on Tuesday against the Seattle Mariners at T-Mobile Park.

If you just look at the box score and the final result, nothing has changed: the White Sox are still, by far, the worst team in baseball and they dropped another game.

However, they got to experience what hope feels like for the first time in ages, it seems.

They called up top pitching prospect Drew Thorpe and watched him make his MLB debut against the M’s in that game.

Not only that, but he showed his excellent stuff, good command, resilience, and composure.

He left an excellent impression in his first game as a major leaguer.

In five innings, the right-hander allowed two runs (one earned) with two walks and four strikeouts.

Being a major leaguer is a life-changing thing for many prospects, and Thorpe has deserved the status for a while.

Last year, in the New York Yankees system, he was crowned the Pitching Prospect of the Year by MLB Pipeline.

Then, he was traded to the San Diego Padres alongside four other Yankees players and prospects for Juan Soto and Trent Grisham.

Before the start of the season, the Friars flipped him to the White Sox in the Dylan Cease trade.

Thorpe did nothing but dominate in the minors this year, posting a 1.35 ERA in 60 Double-A innings.

His fastball is improving, his command is excellent and his changeup is already an out-pitch in MLB.

Will he stick around in MLB, or will Chicago send him down after the outing?

We shall find out in the upcoming hours.
