Opelka Set to Make Highly Anticipated Return in Washington

Opelka To Make Long-Awaited Comeback Happen In Washington

Reilly Opelka will make his return to the courts at the 2024 Citi Open in Washington.

After being away from tennis due to injury, Opelka has been vocal on various topics. His comeback is scheduled for July 27th at the Citi Open, marking his first match since November of last year.

Opelka briefly returned to play at the ATP Challenger tournament in Charlottesville last year but had to withdraw from his next match. He has been working towards his return for the past six months.

Despite earlier hopes for his return, Opelka had to pull out of the Australian Open due to ongoing injury struggles. Now, he is poised for a comeback at the Citi Open, where he last played in 2022.

The Citi Open’s fast surface sets the stage for Opelka’s return, as he aims to regain his form and compete at the upcoming US Open.
