The Kansas City Chiefs have officially gone full circle.
They went from being a great underdog story to becoming the team everybody loves to hate.
That’s not much of a surprise, as it’s just what happens when you start winning a lot and beating all the opposing teams.
That’s why Chiefs star QB Patrick Mahomes has no issue whatsoever with being deemed a villain right now.
Talking ahead of the Super Bowl, Mahomes claimed that all he loves to do is win, so if that makes him a villain, then so be it (via NFL on CBS).
“I just like winning. If you win a lot and that causes you to be the villain, I’m okay with it,” Mahomes said.
Patrick Mahomes was asked if winning too much was causing him to become a villain:

The Chiefs entered the season as defending champions, but not many people thought they would be able to get back to this stage.
They had a shortage of talent in their receiving corps, and they showcased the worst offense of the Patrick Mahomes era.
Fast forward to today, and they still managed to make it to the biggest game of the year.
Mahomes has become inevitable and so have the Chiefs.
Needless to say, that has become tiring to some, especially those who happen to be on the wrong end of their matchups.
The AFC went from the New England Patriots dynasty to a Chiefs dynasty with pretty much no gap of years in between, so you definitely have to feel bad for all the fans who know they won’t stand a chance to make it to the big game for as long as Patrick Mahomes is out there.
