Paul George Shares Unbelievable Tale of Using Holy Water to Achieve NBA Success

George

Paul George has recalled a hilarious story from when he was a teenager that he thinks helped him get a start in the NBA.

To reach his dream of being an NBA player, Paul enlisted the help of God.

He saw an advertisement on TV for a sample of holy water that could be sent to your house, so you could be blessed whenever you felt like it.

So PG-13 decided to try it out for himself.

“I don’t think moms or pops know that story of me ordering holy water. I was probably like 15-16 years old and this particular infomercial was people having the holy ghost based off of this holy water that you can order,” George said on Podcast P With Paul George. “So I’m watching this, and I’m like, ‘Alright, it’s worth a try’.

“Two weeks later, they sent me this little holy water sample or something like that. I remember, I prayed. I sprinkled the holy water on me. I was like, ‘What’s the worst that can happen?’ My prayer behind it was, ‘I just wanna be an NBA player. Like I wanna be the best basketball player I can be.’ It’s safe to say it worked.”

Around four years later, PG was selected by the Indiana Pacers with the 10th overall pick of the 2010 NBA draft.

It definitely wasn’t the holy water that has helped him become one of the smoothest NBA players in history, but pure talent.

George will join the 76ers this season, in the hopes he can win that elusive NBA championship before his time is up.

No doubt he form a deadly combination with Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey in Philly – two players also chasing their first championship.
