In the fierce battle for Los Angeles supremacy, the Clippers, despite their star-studded lineup, are yet to clinch an NBA championship—a feat their crosstown rivals, the Lakers, have accomplished 18 times.

Clippers’ standout Paul George is fueled by a unique motivation; he yearns to secure a title not only for personal glory but to grant Clipper fans the coveted ability to engage in trash talking with their Lakers counterparts.

Despite boasting a roster filled with talent, the Clippers have faced a championship drought, and George is determined to alter that narrative.

Acknowledging the steadfast support of the Clippers’ faithful, George expressed his desire to reciprocate their loyalty in a distinctive manner.

In an interview with Natasha Dye of People, George emphasized his commitment to those fans who have stood by the Clippers through thick and thin.

“People have stayed and are by our side, those are the ones I want to give back to,” remarked George. His vision goes beyond individual accolades, extending into the realm of providing Clipper fans with the ammunition to engage in good-natured trash talk against Lakers enthusiasts.

George articulated his aspiration, saying, “At least give them an opportunity to go at Lakers fans with some sort of trash talk.”

Currently, the Clippers are in the 8th place in the Western Conference with 13 wins and 10 losses, while the Lakers are fifth with a 15-10 record.
