Pegula Faces Uncertain Future at French Open due to Injury

Pegula Provides Injury Update Saying She Could Miss French Open

Jessica Pegula shared an injury update on social media, revealing the possibility of missing this year’s Roland Garros.

Pegula has been a consistent player on the WTA Tour for years, although this season has been challenging for her due to injuries affecting her performance.

Recently, Pegula missed the Madrid Open and will also skip the Italian Open due to a new injury incurred during her clay court preparations.

Her last tournament was the Billie Jean King Cup Qualifiers, and she had to withdraw from the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix due to scheduling conflicts before injuring herself while getting ready for the Madrid Open.

Although Pegula hasn’t disclosed the specifics of her injury, it seems serious as she has now missed significant events and may also be absent from Roland Garros.

In her latest social media update, Pegula mentioned the possibility of missing both Rome and Roland Garros while slowly easing back into training.

“Hi guys quick update. Will miss Rome and possibly RG. I actually feel really good but have to work back into training at a snail’s pace.”

With the 2024 French Open scheduled between May 20th and June 9th, Pegula faces a race against time to recover and compete in the second Grand Slam of the season.
