Everybody talks about the New York Yankees’ rotation, and how many options the Los Angeles Dodgers would have if fully healthy.

However, the Philadelphia Phillies have, without a doubt, the best rotation in baseball.

The numbers don’t lie, and four of the five members of the staff are among the National League leaders in ERA, per MLB Network.

Phillies left-hander Ranger Suarez leads all qualified pitchers in ERA, with an incredible 1.70 mark in 74 innings.

His 9-1 record speaks volumes about his ability to cover lots of innings and allowing few, if any, runs.

Zack Wheeler and his 2.23 ERA rank third in the National League, behind the Atlanta Braves’ Reynaldo Lopez.

Wheeler is a usual suspect in this case: an established ace who keeps getting better with time.

Just behind Wheeler is his rotation mate, Christopher Sanchez.

Much like Suarez, Sanchez is enjoying a breakout year and is fourth in the NL in ERA with a 2.71 mark.

Javier Assad of the Chicago Cubs is fifth, and in sixth place, we have yet another Phillie: Aaron Nola with his 2.77 ERA.

Spencer Turnbull and Taijuan Walker have shared the fifth starter role, with mixed results.

However, with a top-four like that, you can sense Philadelphia is going places this year.

It’s definitely not a coincidence that they have an MLB-leading 44-19 record as of Friday afternoon.

With that kind of starting pitching, some shutdown relievers and hitters such as Bryce Harper, Trea Turner, Kyle Schwarber, Alec Bohm, and J.T. Realmuto, this could very well be the Phillies’ year.
