The 2022 Philadelphia Phillies were sneaky good: they almost missed the postseason, then went on and made the World Series.

The 2023 Phillies were dangerous, but couldn’t win key games in the NL Championship Series and lost to the Arizona Diamondbacks.

The 2024 version of the team might be the best of the trio, and even if it’s still too early to say how far they will get, they are looking like a top-two team in the National League.

At the moment, they boast the lead in the NL East division with a 26-12 record.

The Atlanta Braves, their closest competitor in the division, are 2.5 games behind.

Right now, they project a whopping 114 wins.

As the league’s official Twitter account states, the Phillies are on fire.

They are 8-2 in their last 10, and nobody else in the majors has 26 wins.

Bryce Harper is getting hot, with nine home runs and a .923 OPS.

Alec Bohm is breaking out at the plate and has 32 RBI and a .976 OPS to this point, and the pitching staff as a whole has a magnificent 3.21 ERA.

Three of the Phils’ starters have an ERA under 2.00: Zack Wheeler, Ranger Suarez, and Spencer Turnbull.

Perhaps the bullpen could use a couple of reinforcements, but the Phillies are well-balanced and deep.

They certainly look like one of the best teams in baseball at the moment, and it’s all sustainable, too.

They will need to be at the top of their game to beat the Braves in the regular season standings, though.
