Pistons GM Troy Weaver Gets Into Fight With Fan

Pistons General Manager Troy Weaver had a NSFW argument with someone from his own fanbase during the fourth quarter of the team’s 142-124 loss to the Mavericks on Saturday.

A video captured by someone in the crowd shows the fan heckling the Pistons GM by saying, ” You suck at your job”.

Weaver hit back at the fan at the and didn’t hold back.

“You threatened me,” the fan can be heard saying to the GM.

The Athletic reported further details.

“The fan had been pestering Weaver in the build-up to what was captured on the video, according to sources briefed on the exchange. Weaver ignored the fan’s first pass and then, on the second one, said something along the lines of, “I don’t come to your work and harass you,” the sources said. The moment captured on video showed the fan’s third time provoking Weaver,” The Athletic reported.

The GM in his fourth season with Detroit, declined to comment Sunday, according to ESPN.

A season-ticket holder from Detroit, Jeffrey Calloway, was sitting near Weaver when the fan heckled him multiple times and recounted his version of events to ESPN.

“The guy that was in the incident, with the Red Wings stuff on, came over and was pointing at the scoreboard earlier in the game,” Calloway said in a telephone interview Sunday. “Troy Weaver just shrugged his shoulders and said, ‘OK,’ and the guy went back to his seat.

“When [Jalen] Duren got ejected [midway through the fourth quarter], the guy came back and told him that he was terrible at his job. Then, Troy Weaver was telling the fan he had to leave and that’s when ushers or security walked over.”
