Player Ratings: USA vs. France at Paris 2024 Olympics

USA vs. France, Paris 2024 Olympics: Community player ratings

The USA men’s soccer team began the Paris 2024 Olympics with a 0-3 defeat to home nation France in Marseille. Alexandre Lacazette opened the scoring for Les Bleus in the 61st minute, and new Bayern Munich signing Michael Olise doubled the lead 8 minutes later. Loïc Badé made it 3-0 in the 85th minute. The US did have some chances, most notably a close-range header from John Tolkin and a long-distance blast from Djordje Mihailovic, but both of them hit the woodwork instead of finding their way into goal. Nathan Harriel also had a glancing header that went just wide from a free kick delivered nicely by Jack McGlynn. Griffin Yow appeared to score in second-half stoppage time, but he was ruled offside after receiving a long diagonal from Tanner Tessmann.

Instead of giving you our player ratings, we want to know what you think. Below is a ratings form for you to fill out with ratings for each USA player’s performance. After a day/night of voting, we’ll tabulate the ratings and reveal them with the top rated player being named Stars and Stripes FC’s Man of the Match. Feel free to head down to the comment section and leave your thoughts on the match as a whole or give your detailed explanation of your ratings.
