The 152nd Open Championship is scheduled to take place from July 18-21 at Royal Troon in Scotland, with the 156-man field almost complete. On July 2, many golfers had their final chance to qualify for the prestigious event by competing in one of the 36-hole final qualifying stages. The R&A organized the qualifiers at four venues, with four spots available at each course, including Dundonald Links, Royal Cinque Ports, Burnham & Berrow, and West Lancashire.
Unfortunately, some notable players fell short of making it to The Open. Here is a closer look at those who narrowly missed out:
1. Eugenio Lopez Chacarra
2. Thomas Detry
3. Sergio Garcia
4. Branden Grace
5. Graeme McDowell
6. Omar Morales
7. Wade Ormsby
8. Carlos Ortiz
