Manchester United have been handed some slightly reassuring injury news as it looks like Luke Shaw’s season is not over after all.
According to Fabrizio Romano, posting on his official account on X below, it seems Man Utd expect that Shaw could be back in action for the team before the end of the campaign, which could then also boost his hopes of making it to Euro 2024 with England.
See below for details as Romano provides an update on Shaw’s fitness after his latest recent setback…

Shaw injury another blow in a difficult season for Man Utd
Shaw has often had fitness problems throughout his career at United, and this season is no different, while there have also been so many problems with other key players.
Lisandro Martinez and Mason Mount have barely been able to get on the pitch despite surely being starters when available, while Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Tyrell Malacia have also been out and might have had a role to play if they’d been fit.
Shaw’s absence earlier on this season meant United signed cover at left-back, with Sergio Reguilon joining on loan from Tottenham, though this deal was cancelled in January as he returned to Spurs and then joined Brentford in another loan move.
With hindsight, perhaps MUFC could have done well to keep Reguilon for a bit longer to ensure they had cover in case the injury-prone Shaw picked up another knock, which indeed he has.
While Shaw is a top player on his day and has the potential to make a positive impact for United, it might be worth considering a further signing at left-back in the summer to really compete with the former Southampton man for a place in Erik ten Hag’s starting XI, as it seems like his long-running fitness issues just aren’t going away any time soon.
